Tami is an awarding winning sugar artist and hand makes all her sugar flowers. In her studio in sunny San Diego, CA. she has a beautiful garden of flowers where she gets inspiration to recreate them in life like sugar.
She has written several articles for American Cake Decorating Magazine , and was featured on the cover of the Dec/Jan 2007 issue.
She has also made flowers for several bakeries and private chefs in the area. Including making the fondant figures featured in the 2004 1st place Gingerbread
City entry for the Epilepsy foundation. She was asked to be a guest presenter at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California–San Diego for a pastry class and participate in a sugar art display for the graduating class banquet centerpiece with her sugar flowers. She has studied with top sugar artists from England and the United States and has assisted both Nicholas Lodge and Colette Peters in their classes.
Tami's attention to detail and realistic coloring effects have rewarded her with winning several Best of Shows and many top awards in cake shows.
Tami also has studied many other decorating techniques in addition to flower making such as the much sought after Lambeth style of decorating and floodwork.
As shown in her work, she is versatile in many different styles of decorating and blends it all together to become a stunning centerpiece of sugar.
With years of teaching experience, she has now begun making online video instruction books and DVD's for Yummy Arts.
Instructional DVD's are now available for some of these cakes and projects!
